The project will be developed within the recently granted ERANET Neuron project IMatrix (https://www.neuron-eranet.eu/projects/IMatrix/ ). The main goal of the PhD project will be to design, prepare and validate smart or responsive contrast agents based on fluorinated nanoprobes and to study the role of metalloproteinases after stroke by 19F MRI. It is a multidisciplinary project involving chemistry, nanotechnology and biomedicine that will be carried out the frame of an international consortium involving experts from Spain, France, Germany and Hungary. The project will be developed at the Instituto Biofisika (CSIC, UPV/EHU) (https://biofisika.org) under the supervision Dr. Mónica Carril in the FluoroNanoTools Lab.
