We are looking for a research assistant at the Fundacion Biofisica Bizkaia (Biofisika Institute) under the supervision of Dr. Marité Cárdenas in collaboration with the Materials Physics Center (CFM) and the University of the Basque Country (EHU) to work on Shear-Stress-Responsive Nanoparticle Platforms for Targeted Cardiovascular Therapy and Atherosclerosis Management. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and characterization of polypeptide and polymer nanoparticles engineered to encapsulate cardiovascular drugs and respond to high shear stress environments characteristic of atherosclerotic plaques. The work will involve synthesis and formulation of nanoparticles, investigation of their rheological and structural properties under shear using small-angle scattering techniques, assessment of their drug solubilization and release profiles and the development of microfluidic and flow devices that mirror conditions in the atherosclerotic plaque. We offer a unique opportunity to work at the interface of nanotechnology, soft matter physics, engineering and biomedicine within an interdisciplinary research environment.
